Circle Internet Group used its third-quarter print to show how USDC still pays even after a noisy month for exchange security headlines. Circle Q3 results posted $865 million in total revenue and reserve income, up 17% year over year, with average USDC circulation at $73.3 billion and end-period USDC at $73.9 billion.

What happened

Circle's SEC-filed earnings release for the third quarter of 2026 put onchain USDC volume at $13.9 trillion, up 49% year over year. Net income from continuing operations was $226 million, up 5%, while adjusted EBITDA reached $317 million, up 85%. Reserve income contributed $658 million and other revenue $207 million, including $182 million from the ARC token presale. The company also noted a $100 million equity investment from Binance.

CoinDesk said the print beat estimates, citing adjusted EPS of $0.84 against a Street figure near $0.37, and flagged a 5% workforce cut with $9.1 million of restructuring charges. Shares were about 1.2% lower in premarket trade after the release, CoinDesk reported, even as USDC transaction volume and the ARC presale dominated the narrative.

The mix shows reserve income still carries the P&L while product and token lines start to matter at the margin: ARC's $182 million presale was large enough to move other revenue without changing the fact that USDC float remains the core earnings engine.

Why it matters

Stablecoin issuers sit at the center of both market plumbing and post-hack recovery tools. Our note on the Kraken EU theft accounts probe showed how quickly freezes and venue restrictions become first-line containment; Circle Q3 results remind investors that USDC float and reserve income are also a listed-company earnings story.

Exchange-security nerves remain a second backdrop. Coverage of the Mercado Bitcoin hack underlined how hot-wallet incidents spill into stablecoin transfer patterns; a 49% jump in onchain USDC volume is the other side of that plumbing demand.

Investors will still ask how durable ARC-related other revenue is versus the $658 million reserve-income base, especially after a restructuring charge that signals cost discipline alongside growth.

Circle also used the quarter to advertise payments infrastructure scale, citing CPN annualized total payment volume of $41.3 billion and a definitive agreement to acquire Singapore-based Tazapay, a B2B cross-border platform with more than $25 billion of annualized payment volume and local payout rails across more than 100 markets. Arc public mainnet launched September 16 with more than 100 institutional and ecosystem builders on day one, and Circle completed a genesis mint of 10 billion ARC tokens — another reminder that the USDC issuer is trying to productize network economics beside reserve income. Those initiatives will be judged on 2027 execution, but they already sit inside the same earnings package as the $865 million revenue print.

What's next

Watch whether end-period USDC holds near $73.9 billion into year-end and how ARC mainnet activity converts the presale into recurring network economics. Circle's SEC earnings release is the primary source for the Circle Q3 results figures.

A follow-through beat on adjusted EBITDA margins would matter more than another headline revenue print if reserve rates keep drifting.

Any fresh disclosure on the Tazapay acquisition timeline will also shape how investors value Circle's payments expansion beside the core USDC franchise.
