Spot bitcoin funds opened November with another heavy redemption day. Bitcoin ETF November outflows totaled about $399 million on November 2, with BlackRock's IBIT alone shedding roughly $405 million — its largest daily outflow since June — even as Fidelity's FBTC took in a small offset.

What happened

Farside Investors' table for 2 November 2026 shows a total of minus $398.6 million, with IBIT at minus $405.3 million and FBTC at plus $6.7 million. The following session, 3 November, added another minus $115.6 million overall, including IBIT outflows of $95.0 million and FBTC inflows of $6.8 million. Friday 30 October had already printed a minus $643.2 million total.

CoinDesk said spot bitcoin ETFs lost $399 million on Monday, a second straight outflow day, and that IBIT's $405 million exit was the largest since June. Bitcoin edged about 0.2% higher toward around $76,900 after dipping near $76,300 as midterm election risk also weighed.

Bitcoin.com put Monday's figure at $398.62 million and said two-day outflows topped $1.04 billion when combined with Friday's $643.33 million. It listed IBIT at minus $405.30 million and FBTC at plus $6.68 million, and noted ether ETFs lost $139.80 million for a sixth straight negative day.

Taken together, Friday's $643 million complex exit and Monday's nearly $399 million follow-through mean spot bitcoin funds have already shed more than $1 billion across two sessions into the midterm week, a stretch that leaves creations needing a clean political and price catalyst to resume.

Why it matters

Flow pressure matters because spot ETFs remain the cleanest institutional channel into bitcoin. Our coverage of IBIT and FBTC outflows framed Friday's $643 million exit; Monday's print extends that streak into the first full week of November.

Cost-basis and rally-pace history also color the tape. The bitcoin ETF cost basis debate showed how quickly redemptions can cluster when spot stalls below widely watched average entry levels.

Bitcoin ETF November outflows arriving alongside midterm risk also blur whether sellers are reacting to politics, prices, or both — a distinction that will only clear once election noise fades and daily creations resume.

Monday's bitcoin ETF November outflows also arrived while ether funds extended a six-day streak of redemptions, so the flow story is not isolated to a single bitcoin product or issuer even if IBIT dominated the dollar total.

What's next

Watch whether November 3's smaller $115.6 million Farside total shrinks further once U.S. political headlines settle. Farside's bitcoin ETF flow table remains the cleanest daily scoreboard for IBIT, FBTC and the complex.

A third large outflow day would keep spot ETF demand from cushioning any fresh sub-$76,000 print.

Ether ETF weakness on a sixth straight negative day also suggests the redemption wave is broader than bitcoin alone.

If creations fail to return by midweek, secondary-market discounts and authorized-participant activity will become the next tell for whether institutional demand is merely pausing for the election or stepping back more broadly. Authorized participants and market makers will also watch whether IBIT's June-scale single-day exit repeats or whether Monday was the peak redemption print of this November stretch before creations stabilize. That midweek flow print will matter as much as the midterm map for short-term bitcoin ETF demand.
