Ether ETF Outflow Streak Hits Nine Days and $697 Million
The Ether ETF outflow streak reached nine straight sessions and about $697 million, while last week alone removed $542.1 million from U.S. spot ether funds, their worst week since January.

U.S. spot ether products just completed their worst week since January, and the Ether ETF outflow streak behind that print is now nine sessions long. The Block, working from SoSoValue data, said the funds lost $542.1 million last week and about $697.2 million across the streak that began on September 29.
What happened
BlackRock's ETHA accounted for roughly 88% of the weekly ether redemptions, shedding $477.0 million, The Block reported. Tuesday alone saw $201.9 million leave ETHA on the day its 1-for-3 reverse share split took effect, the fund's largest single-day outflow since January 21. Grayscale's ETHE was second for the week at $31.9 million. Net assets in the ether category fell about 10% on the week to $15.71 billion, while cumulative net inflows since launch stood at $13.26 billion and 2026 year-to-date inflows cooled to $931.8 million.
Decrypt put October losses for ether ETFs at about $635 million and said Friday's $56.1 million exit extended the Ether ETF outflow streak to nine days, with nearly $700 million gone over the full run. Solana funds were also red: The Block said they lost $24.8 million last week, ending a record 14-week inflow streak, with Bitwise's BSOL responsible for about 84% of that category's weekly outflows. Combined with bitcoin's $681.1 million weekly redemption, the three spot categories lost about $1.25 billion.
Why it matters
Flow divergence inside crypto ETFs is now a story of its own. Bitcoin funds snapped a three-week inflow run with that $681.1 million week, yet still sit on more than $57 billion of cumulative net inflows, The Block said. Ether's streak is longer and more concentrated in a single issuer product, which magnifies headlines when ETHA has a mechanical event such as a reverse split. Solana's broken 14-week streak shows even the previous favorite among newer altcoin ETFs can reverse quickly when risk appetite fades.
We tracked related pressure in our Ethereum and Solana ETF outflows report and in the bitcoin ETF $484.9 million outflow day-count. An Ether ETF outflow streak of this length also feeds the trading narrative around ether's hold near $2,500, even when weekend spot prices look calm.
Concentration risk inside the Ether ETF outflow streak is hard to ignore. When one issuer product can print 88% of a category's weekly redemptions, mechanical events such as ETHA's reverse split become market-moving even if the underlying ether thesis is unchanged. The Block noted ETHA's net assets of $8.64 billion sit well below its $12.79 billion of cumulative net inflows, a gap that tells you how much price action and prior outflows have already marked the book. Trading volume in the ether ETF complex rose to $5.18 billion from $3.57 billion the prior week, so the exits happened in a more active tape, not a holiday drift.
Solana's broken streak adds a relative-value wrinkle. A record 14-week inflow run ending with the largest weekly outflow since launch shows how quickly the "altcoin ETF darling" label can reverse. Morgan Stanley's MSOL and Invesco's QSOL still posted small weekly inflows, The Block said, which means the category pain was not perfectly uniform. For ether, the practical near-term question is whether the Ether ETF outflow streak cools once the split week is digested or whether CPI week extends it. Either way, nine sessions and roughly $697 million already rewrite October's flow narrative for ETH products.
Decrypt's month-to-date scoreboard reinforces The Block's weekly one. Ether funds were down about $635 million for October with the heaviest single day still the $201.9 million print on October 6, while bitcoin funds were down about $386.3 million for the month even after Friday's modest inflow. Cumulative ether inflows of roughly $13.2–13.3 billion since launch show the products remain successful in absolute terms; the Ether ETF outflow streak is about marginal demand flipping hard in a short window. That is the distinction desks should keep when headlines scream "exodus."
Spot ether net assets near $15.7 billion after a 10% weekly drop still dwarf most altcoin products, which is why an Ether ETF outflow streak this loud moves the whole digital-asset complex rather than a niche corner of it.
What's next
Decrypt noted cumulative ether ETF net inflows of $13.2 billion and total net assets around $14.5–15.7 billion depending on the snapshot. The immediate tests are the same ones hanging over bitcoin: September CPI on October 14 and whether ETHA outflows cool after the split week. If the Ether ETF outflow streak stretches further, it will keep weighing on ether's relative performance versus bitcoin even on days when both trade sideways.
