Plans for EQX Hyperliquid tokenized stocks call for 11 share-backed equity and ETF markets on Hyperliquid's HIP-1 spot book, EQX Labs said in documentation and launch materials dated around Oct. 14. Tickers would cover SPY, QQQ, Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla, Micron, and SPCX, each quoted against USDC for 24/7 trading, with U.S. persons excluded.

What happened

EQX docs on markets list the first 11 markets as tokenized versions of SPY and QQQ plus nine U.S. stocks—AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL, META, MSFT, NVDA, TSLA, MU, and SPCX—with every ticker prefixed EQ, so Apple-backed tokens would trade as EQAAPL. Each market is described as a spot pair against USDC on Hyperliquid. Docs stress that token IDs are the authenticity check because anyone can mint a similarly named token.

DefiEdge reported the Oct. 14 plans as limited-recourse debt notes issued by EQX SPC Ltd., a British Virgin Islands segregated portfolio company, backed 1:1 by shares held at Alpaca Securities, StoneX, and Clear Street. Only authorized participants may create or redeem for underlying shares; other holders exit via secondary sales. EQX plans no issuer fees and would take a share of Hyperliquid trading fees instead. The EQX homepage still shows "Launching soon," confirming markets are not live.

Why it matters

EQX Hyperliquid tokenized stocks would put share-backed equity exposure on a crypto perpetual venue's spot book without giving holders direct stock ownership or U.S. market hours—announced plans rather than a live listing, given the homepage still reads "Launching soon." The debt-note structure and BVI issuer are deliberate legal choices that keep U.S. persons out while letting non-U.S. traders hold overnight and weekend exposure to Nvidia or SPY. For Hyperliquid, the listing continues a broader tokenized-real-world-asset push on HIP-1.

Investors must distinguish EQX tokens from the underlying shares: no direct rights against Apple or the ETF sponsor, redemption in kind only for eligible institutions, and authenticity tied to published token IDs. Those caveats are why DefiEdge flagged launch sequencing and broker-statement publication as open questions. EQX's fee model—no issuer fees, revenue from Hyperliquid trading fees—aligns incentives with venue volume rather than creation spreads, a different economic design from many tokenized-stock wrappers that charge mint or management fees.

What's next

Watch for Hyperliquid market listings, published token IDs matching the docs table, and any AP onboarding announcements before treating EQX Hyperliquid tokenized stocks as tradable. Until the "Launching soon" banner clears, treat the product as announced rather than tradable. Related: tokenized options contract talk and Interactive Brokers ether staking. Custodian branding on the homepage—StoneX, Clear Street, Alpaca—will be part of the trust sale when markets open; any mismatch between marketed custodians and docs at launch would be an immediate red flag for secondary-market buyers.
