DriveWealth Ripple RLUSD settlement starts Europe
DriveWealth Ripple RLUSD plans start with European stablecoin settlement on the XRP Ledger, plus payments, custody, and exploratory prime financing.

DriveWealth Ripple RLUSD integration will let the brokerage-as-a-service firm fund collateral accounts with Ripple's dollar stablecoin on the XRP Ledger, starting with European settlement and planning a U.S. expansion, the companies said on Oct. 14. The partnership also covers Ripple Payments for cross-border acceptance, European digital-asset custody, and exploratory equity-financing work through Ripple Prime.
What happened
Ripple's press release said DriveWealth wants funding rails that match its 24/5 trading hours. CEO Naureen Hassan said the firm has already enabled 24/5 trading and now needs funding to match so clients are not waiting on bank wires overnight or over weekends. Jack McDonald, Ripple's SVP of stablecoins, said DriveWealth came with a cross-border settlement problem that widened into a broader product suite.
The companies will discuss the partnership at Ripple Swell on Oct. 28 in New York. DriveWealth powers investing experiences for more than 100 partners globally, the release said.
The Block reported that RLUSD on the XRP Ledger will support near-real-time conversion to cash for collateral accounts, and that DriveWealth is bringing treasury and custody infrastructure onto Ripple's rails. The Block noted the deal follows Standard Chartered's RLUSD custody launch the same week and earlier Ripple–LMAX work on institutional stablecoin use. It also flagged Ripple's separate Privy wallet partnership on XRPL announced in the same news cycle.
Why it matters
Brokerage infrastructure firms sit between fintech front ends and U.S. market access; if their collateral funding still runs on T+ bank wires while equities trade longer hours, capital sits idle—which is the gap DriveWealth Ripple RLUSD settlement is meant to close. Stablecoin settlement is an attempt to close that gap without asking every partner to build its own crypto stack. Starting in Europe before the U.S. also tracks where RLUSD custody and regulatory comfort are furthest along for Ripple's banking clients.
The Hassan quote is the commercial thesis in one line: extended trading hours without extended funding hours recreate the weekend and cutoff-time problems digital assets were supposed to shrink. Pairing payments, custody, and prime brokerage exploration into one announcement shows Ripple selling a bundle rather than a single token ticker.
The timing beside Standard Chartered's RLUSD custody and Ripple's Privy wallet work on XRPL is not accidental: Ripple is stacking institutional distribution channels in the same week rather than spacing announcements across a quarter. For DriveWealth's fintech partners, the practical question is whether RLUSD funding shows up inside existing onboarding flows or as a separate crypto permissioning step.
Hassan's 24/5 framing also explains why equity-financing talks with Ripple Prime appear in the same release: once collateral can move in stablecoins, prime-style financing against that collateral becomes the next institutional ask rather than a separate product silo. DriveWealth's more-than-100-partner network means a single RLUSD funding rail can propagate into many fintech front ends without each partner negotiating its own Circle or bank stablecoin deal, which is the distribution math behind bundling payments and custody in one release.
What's next
Watch for European go-live dates, any named custody jurisdictions, and whether U.S. expansion arrives with banking-partner disclosures for the DriveWealth Ripple RLUSD stack.
